Ryanodex Dantrolene Application Scope

Ryanodex (Dantrolene) is indicated for the treatment of malignant hyperthermia (MH), a rare but potentially life-threatening condition triggered by certain anesthetic agents during surgery.

It is used to rapidly reverse the hypermetabolic state induced by MH, characterized by a high fever, muscle rigidity, and acidosis. Dantrolene works by inhibiting the release of calcium from the sarcoplasmic reticulum in muscle cells, which helps to control the excessive muscle contractions and heat production in MH.

Ryanodex is also used to treat neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS), a condition associated with antipsychotic drug use.
