Guidelines For The Use Of Poudre Nasal Glucagon

Dosage and Administration:

• Single 3 mg dose sprayed into one nostril.
• Steps:
  1. Remove shrink wrap by pulling the red stripe.
  2. Open the lid and take out the device.
  3. Insert the tip into the nostril until fingers touch the nose.
  4. Push the plunger firmly until the green line disappears.
  5. Discard the used device1.
• If no response after 15 minutes, a second dose may be given if available113.

Adverse Reactions:

• Common: Nausea, vomiting, headache, runny nose, nasal discomfort, itchy eyes/throat113.
• Serious (rare): High blood pressure (pheochromocytoma patients), severe allergic reactions (rash, breathing difficulty)112.
