Letybo Application Scope

Letybo is an FDA-approved botulinum toxin type A injectable treatment designed to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe glabellar lines (frown lines between the eyebrows) in adults.

Guidelines for the Use of Letybo

  • Dosage and Administration:

    • Recommended Dose: 30 mg orally, taken twice weekly (with at least 72 hours between doses)
    • Administration: Can be taken with or without food; no dietary restrictions (including grapefruit or dairy)
    • Missed Dose: If a dose is missed, it should be taken within 12 hours of the scheduled time; otherwise, skip and resume the next scheduled dose
  • Adverse Reactions:

    • Common side effects include headache and injection site reactions

    • Serious adverse reactions may include hypersensitivity reactions, cardiovascular events, and symptoms related to the spread of toxin effects, such as dysphagia and respiratory difficulties.

 

  • Contraindications: Contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to any botulinum toxin preparation or any components of the formulation, and in those with infection at the proposed injection site.

  • Precautions:

    • Use with caution in patients with pre-existing neuromuscular disorders, cardiovascular disease, or compromised respiratory function.

    • The effects of botulinum toxin may spread beyond the injection site, leading to serious symptoms.

Interactions

  • Drug Interactions: Caution is advised when Letybo is administered concomitantly with aminoglycosides, anticholinergic agents, or other agents that interfere with neuromuscular transmission, as these may potentiate the effect of Letybo
