Gattex Teduglutide Application Scope
Gattex medication(Teduglutide) is a recombinant analog of human GLP-2 (glucagon-like peptide-2) used to treat short bowel syndrome (SBS) in adults and pediatric patients who have undergone intestinal surgery and require parenteral nutrition (PN). It is indicated for patients who are dependent on intravenous nutrition due to insufficient intestinal function.
Teduglutide works by promoting intestinal growth, improving nutrient absorption, and reducing the need for PN in SBS patients, which can significantly enhance the patient’s quality of life.
