Eloxatin Oxaliplatin Application Scope

Eloxatin is indicated for the treatment of:

  • Adjuvant Treatment: Stage III colon cancer following complete resection of the primary tumor.

  • Advanced Colorectal Cancer: In combination with infusional fluorouracil and leucovorin.

Guidelines for the Use of Eloxatin Oxaliplatin

  • Dosage and Administration:

    • Recommended Dose:

      • Adjuvant Treatment: Administer every 2 weeks for up to 12 cycles or until unacceptable toxicity occurs.

      • Advanced Colorectal Cancer: Continue treatment until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity.

    • Administration: For intravenous infusion only. It must be diluted in a 5% glucose solution. The infusion should last 2 to 6 hours. Do not use saline solutions or aluminum-containing intravenous sets. When used in a combination regimen, Eloxatin is typically administered before 5-fluorouracil.

    • Missed Dose:​ If a dose is missed, the patient should notify their doctor, home caregiver, or treatment clinic immediately.

  • Adverse Reactions:

    • Common Adverse Reactions:

      • Peripheral sensory neuropathy (e.g., numbness, tingling, cold sensitivity)
